Mission Codename Speedy Balance
Today’s Meadowcroft Wines 2011 Knights Valley Zinfandel is a delightful wine with one tremendous backstory.
You see, today’s wine was 100% crafted from the Speedy Creek Vineyard, which just so happened to be one of Robert Mondavi’s favorite vineyards. Back in the 1980’s, Mr. Mondavi pleaded with the vineyard owner to allow him plant a swath of Zinfandel vines in this hard-to-get-to hillside vineyard. Today, these same Zinfandel vines (a Primitivo clone) produce some of the best fruit in Knights Valley.
Please accept our strongest recommendation for today’s exceptional, and exceptionally well priced, Zinfandel treat.
