Mission Codename Red Hat
Today’s wine from Red Cap Vineyards was the clear highlight of our most recent tasting panel. We love our high elevation Cabs, and today’s 2009 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is everything we hoped it would be.
High elevation vines are well known for their low yields and distinct terroir notes. These are clearly evident in today’s wine, with hints of minerality and dried herbs that are hallmarks of high elevation. But leave it to master winemaker Rudy Zuidema to frame these elements with bold dark fruit and hints of spice - or in other words, the complete Cabernet package.
We were only able to get our hands on a few cases of today’s wine, so please don’t hesitate - this is one not to miss!
