Mission Codename Peaceful Slumber
Katarina doesn’t mess around when it comes to aging their Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon to perfection. Today’s stellar 2006 Katarina Cabernet Sauvignon spent 24 months in superior French and American oak barrels prior to bottling. It then rested in bottle for a little while longer until the wine was ready for release. In an era when release dates are determined by cashflow imperative, we offer our big kudos to Katarina for releasing the wine when it was actually ready!
Today’s delicious Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic Alexander Valley Cab, with bold fruit, an elegant feel, and plenty of complexity. This wine is smooth on entry and complex on the finish, with minerals and subtle herbal notes giving it an intriguing overall character.
Decant for at least 20 minutes and you’ll be rewarded with softer and more authentic aromas and flavors.
If you enjoy great Cabernet, this wine is highly recommended.
