MAJOR Cabernet deal going down!

An estate Reserve Cab by a popular Napa Valley winemaker for NINETEEN dollars?!

It truly doesn’t get much better than this. Easily one of our most epic scores of the year. This is the real deal, too. An honest, family-owned label that drinks like many Cabs selling for 3- 5x the price. And this is only the second time they’ve made a “Reserve” bottling in 14 years - the first of which scored a huge 96 points. At our price, this is a 1,000/100 on the value scale.

The Housley family has a long history in Napa that includes founding local-favorite Ranch Market, where to this day you can get some of the best deli sandwiches in town (turkey club with pepperoncini a must!)

And while sandwiches are great, we’re not in the business of shipping turkey clubs around the country.

But for about the same price as a loaded sammie, we can drop this small-production Cabernet on your doorstep. We don’t need a magic 8 ball to know this will generate many ‘do you have more’ requests for our Op service Agents. So do yourself and them a solid, STOCK UP – ‘cause it will not last at this price.

While the Housley family has pursued many ventures around town, farming grapes remains one of their longest endeavors. In 1977, they purchased a small vineyard near the southernmost tip of the Silverado Trail and added a second plot a few years later. These two modest sites are both planted exclusively to Cabernet and, for years, supplied fruit to various wineries. Eventually, in 2014, they produced their own.

Today, Art’s son, Adam, and his wife, Tamera, oversee the winery. Years ago, Adam left his career as a foreign news correspondent to help run their family’s Lodi wine project, Century Oak. As demand grew, he and Tamera (who you might recognize from her own career as a Disney star on Sister Sister and Tia and Tamera) ventured to Napa to open the downtown tasting room and showcase their own label.

So, what about the wine? It’s forward and generous in style. Some top old vines own-rooted Lodi fruit from estate vineyards (like those that built the OG Mondavi Cabs) in the up-and-coming Mokelumne River AVA, offers up loads of soft, ripe fruit. With raspberries, cassis, and chocolate-dipped cherries at its core, and a layer of toasty oak and barrel spices wraps this into one super approachable crowd-pleaser.

To quote the Lodi! book by Randy Caparoso, “The sandy component of the Mokelumne River area’s Tokay and Acampo soil series allows for ideal drainage, vine health, and naturally moderated grape yields. Since sand is one of the few mediums in which the root louse phylloxera is unable to proliferate, there are several thousand acres of ungrafted, healthy old vine plantings in the Mokelumne River appellation.” And that’s exactly what we have here.

These already clock in WAY less than your average Napa Cab (which tops $100 per bottle these days) at the highly affordable release price. When you throw in a discount OVER 60% so that you can snag some for under $20?! The very definition of value must be reconsidered…
