The 2018 Vintage will go down as one of the very best vintages in the last few decades. Almost perfect, actually. Budbreak came a tad late, as the Spring was very cool, and the growing season was mild and uneventful, with no weather drama or fire fears. Inky, extracted and dark wines were produced and benefited from an extremely long ripening season, with cold nights and hot days, pushing this vineyard’s harvest until October 16th. Big structure and bold nuances mark this vintage as a big winner.
A big mountain wine with high minerality, silky tannins and bold structure. Full frontal Black fruit and Blue fruit undertones are encapsulated within a moist, earthy, redwood forest influence in the mid-palate, that slips down through a long and polished finish, with a lasting creamy mouthfeel. Wonderfully agile and integrated herbaceousness - surprisingly approachable for a young BIG wine! Balanced!
