In the hands of Wilson, Dry Creek Merlot can be a delightful thing that gives many a Cab shame. The intense, long sunshine hours are what Merlot needs to ripen to perception. And ripen this does!

Lots of ripe, juicy plums, black cherries, and blackberries. Turns supple and elegant, while boasting an endless array of flavors, dark fruits, sweet spices, and mineral accents all melding into a seamless palate. Loud but soft tannins make it agreeable now, and the 9% Zinfandel in there (naturally) helps bring this otherwise massive Merlot to sublime silkiness on the finish… did somebody say NINETEEN A POP?!

Not only is this an unreal bargain at OVER HALF OFF but it also comes with 98 POINTS and a Double Gold from the Los Angeles Invitational Wine & Spirits Challenge… that may not exactly be the Wine Advocate, regardless it’s yet another banging Wilson to pile up by the case with confidence. As winemaker Antoine Favero says, “the secret is gorgeous grapes. We have amazing vineyards.”
