Cerro La Isa Viñedo Singular Blanco 2021 is a unique blend of Garnacha Blanca, Malvasía, Viura, Turruntés, and Calagraño grapes, cultivated using ecological viticulture practices. The vineyard, classified as a “Viñedo Singular,” was planted in 1906 in the Alto Najerilla region. It is cultivated in a bush vine system at 700 meters above sea level, on steep south-facing slopes with poor, shallow clay-limestone soils rich in iron. This vineyard is one of the steepest in Rioja, contributing to its distinctive terroir.

The winemaking process begins with manual destemming, followed by gentle pressing in a small vertical press. The must undergoes static clarification before fermenting at 16°C in new 500-liter barrels made from one of the finest French oaks. The wine remains in these barrels for eight months, aged on its lees, to develop complexity and richness. The grapes are harvested manually in 15-kg boxes during the second week of October, with the vineyard yielding only 2,500 kg per hectare. The 2021 vintage was rated “Very Good” by the Regulatory Council of D.O.Ca. Rioja. Favorable weather conditions supported a slow, optimal ripening process, allowing for selective harvesting and producing wines that truly express the unique characteristics of this territory.

This wine showcases aromas of peach and biscuit, with well-integrated oak on the nose. On the palate, it is voluminous, glyceric, and fresh, with vibrant acidity, abundant structure, and remarkable persistence.
