Mission Codename Lucky 13
Pink and pretty! Are you ready for the perfect wine for sipping while the snow accumulates? It’s the warm up wine for your January recovery!
Want to spend less than a meal for one at Five Guys?
This is the one. Roots in New York City and a heart in wine country, 13 & Third is an up and coming brand with a long winemaking legacy.
Jeb Dunnuck says that “it may be too late to get on the mailing list, but Don Burns is unquestionably one of California’s new superstars” That’s the man behind Saxum and Turtle Rock. He also makes 13th & Third, and that’s IT. Vinous adds: “Given Burns’ lineage it will come as no surprise that his wines are extroverted and fruit-driven, with serious depth…”
We’ve featured a few wines from this brand and we’ve always been impressed but this one tastes incredible. It has all the right components - centered on an elite fruit source and top notch winemaking.
100% Grenache and 100% dry style. In the fruit department, there’s plenty of citrus, such as Meyer lemon and orange rind. Tons of minerality and bright acid with lovely notes of strawberry, lilac and fresh raspberries.
This is aged to perfection and ready to drink now.
Those ultra-rare Saxums can be found in the $150-250 range. So, this at $18? Just sayin’
Unique, exotic, and VERY, VERY LIMITED.
