Mission Codename Perfect harmony
“Longtime winemaker Andy Erickson presented an impressive range of wines at Arietta. The 2021s capture all the energy of the year…” – Vinous
A once Classified offer is back - and this time the cloak of secrecy is OFF! Arietta is here, in all its irresistibly ripe and savory drink-me-now glory.
Quartet, while always the most affordable Arietta, yet never seen outside of the $80-100 range out there. With triple the 93-94+ scores and served up at the lowest price in the known galaxy, this is a must-have for the Napa lovers. This was the most popular Classified deal back in 2023 and thus you helped earn the winery’s trust. After much negotiation, we convinced them to let us unleash the last of this epic 2021 Quartet which is now $100 at their library for the last few cases.
Arietta’s winemaker is none other than Andy Erickson! A genuine Hall of Famer. You may know him from his Screaming Eagle years. Also, for stints at Harlan Estate, OVID, Staglin Family while still consulting for Dalla Valle, Mayacamas Vineyards, To Kalon Vineyard Company, Alpha Omega along with making his own label Favia. He is a true hero at the very top of the Napa wine world!
A Médoc-inspired blend often led by Cabernet or Merlot, in 2021 Quartet boasts a record setting 83% Cabernet! Which makes it BY FAR the best deal for an Erickson-made Cabernet, not only among 2021s but ever. Touches of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot round it out as a true ‘quartet’ playing in perfect harmony… It sees about 1/3 new French oak, retaining a freshness while still offering all the ripe and round fruit we know you love.
This is going to be another banger, and we can already see the finish… its going, going…
Don’t delay!
94+ Points – The Wine Independent “The 2021 Quartet is composed of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it shoots from the glass with vibrant notes of blackcurrant jelly, fresh blackberries, and black raspberries giving way to hints of lilacs and tar. The full-bodied, tightly wound palate offers glimpses at bright black berry and mineral flavors, framed by firm grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing long and earthy. Drink 2024-2042.”
94 Points – James Suckling “Spiced and a little earthy with ripe plums, blackcurrants, cocoa and moist earth. Full-bodied, firm and tight with chalky tannins. Long and spicy. Tight at the end. Try after 2025.”
93 Points – Antonio Galloni’s Vinous “The 2021 Quartet is a gorgeous entry-level wine from Arietta. In this vintage, Merlot yields were punishingly low, so the blend is built around Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon. Rich, deep and savory, with tons of aromatic nuance, the 2021 is simply fabulous. Bright floral notes and red-toned fruit linger on the close. Drink 2024-2033.”
