Mission Codename Eureka!
“Archimedes is clearly the showstopper in the six wines I tasted from Coppola.” - Robert Parker
I love the smell of Cabernet Sauvignon in the morning…smells like VICTORY!
Especially when it’s born from the impressive 2019 vintage. And made by a legendary producer. And priced like THIS. Not $125. Not the $93 wine club member price. Drop it low, shaving 50% OFF and take it all the way to $62. Now we’re cooking with gas!
Aside from directing some of the best movies ever made, Francis Ford Coppola also owns the eponymous Coppola winery. And as you can imagine, if know anything of the epic styling of Mr. Coppola, the winery is basically the Disneyland of wine drinking. Seriously, after reopening in 2010 this place boasts some of the coolest attractions in wine country. Go visit their wine tasting bar (obviously), two restaurants, swimming pools, a movie gallery, a performing arts pavilion and a park area with game tables and… of course, bocce ball courts. You could literally have a weeklong vacation and not need to leave the property. Which isn’t a bad idea now that we think of it….
This is THE flagship wine of Coppola. It pays homage to Francis’s Uncle Archimedes or Uncle Archie, who loved math and mechanics as much as his namesake. The wine is always sourced from some of the highest elevation vineyards in Alexander Valley. The high elevation vineyards provide fruit of incredible weight and beautiful texture.
It only makes sense this Cab would have the deep complexity and towering structure to live up to the namesake. It delivers a terrific balance of ripe fruits and savory, spicy character, jam-packed with dusty blackberries and black plums, toasty cigar box, and roasted espresso, cedar and cocoa powder. Complex and brooding, with fine tannins. A little breather is all it needs to start unwinding and it has the stuffing to last for many years.
This is a wine for true Cab lovers and it won’t stick around for long so DO NOT DELAY!
