Mission Codename All good things come in threes

“Juicy, fruity, and delicious.”
“A plush fruit bomb.”
“A Cabernet crowd pleaser.”

Star Wars? The Godfather? Lord of the Rings? Sorry, but they got NOTHIN’ on THIS Trilogy.

THE Flora Springs flagship red! If unabashedly bold, forward style, HEDONISTIC wines make your heart go pitter-patter, this is 1000% for you. A certified crowd pleaser, with 95 and 94 points from the pros. At a crowd-pleasing price, too. It’s normally $90-100+ out there. Maybe $80 if you shop around.

But our price? By FAR the best you’ll find anywhere.

This wine has so much praise and a truly devoted following. It’s been included as a “gateway wine for converting your stubbornest Beer buds” by The Vintner Project. Another blogger, 1WineDude called it a “showy, flamboyant, and tasty guilty pleasure pick.” It is, after all, 100% Estate fruit, 83% Cabernet, and entirely from select blocks within Komes Ranch straddling Rutherford and St. Helena.

Per VinePair “Trilogy is the flagship wine of Flora Springs, a Napa estate dating back to 1978” and they picked it as a Bold and Juicy Alternative to Caymus describing it as “a wine with some serious concentration of fruit. The palate is generous, bursting with notes of blackcurrant and plum as well as some cocoa and licorice notes from the oak aging. If you like Caymus for those plush, fruit-bomb characteristics, give this one a try.”

A blue-chip red since the inaugural 4 decades ago, as for myself, I remember my first Trilogy like yesterday. I had moved to Napa in 2009 and a friend’s mother was a member of their wine club. They poured one of the late 1990s vintages, and it was one of those “revelation” wines - just hedonistically rich, plush, and polished, with terrific depth. It floods your mouth with layers of juicy baked plums, ripe cherries, alpine strawberries, and creme de cassis. Vanilla, lightly spiced mixed berry pie crust, and toasty herbs, vanilla-flavored tobacco, and sweet oak round it out. In a primo drinking window right now and will easily carry on for years to come.

Get enough to last ‘cause we may not see this one again!

95 Points – Tasting Panel

“Deep garnet color and a lovely nose of toast, chocolate, and mocha. Ripe, dense, and layered, with smooth, chewy flavors and notes of Christmas spice. 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, and 8% Malbec.”

94 Points – James Suckling

”Sweetly spiced nose of cherries, spiced plums, strawberries, vanilla and lavender. Full-bodied with firm, supple tannins and fresh acidity. Juicy, fruity and delicious with pretty spice and floral undertones on the long finish. Sustainable. Better from 2023.”
