Handpicked at night and delivered to the winery at cold temperature, allows us to maintain a cold soak of 6-7 days. This extra skin contact early on helps ensure maximum skin extraction. Finished in barrel and aged sur lie fro 12 months. Stirring the lees for the first 3 months helped create more texture and mouthfeel.
This Pinot Noir is bold but rustic. Rich color and flavors are apparent from the get-go. The glass is overwhelming on the nose with dark fruit tones and an elegant oak profile. The palate has plenty of character from raspberry pie and cherry cobbler. Softer nuances of earth tones and forest floor become apparent after a few swirls. It opens up nicely with a little time showcasing a beautiful bouquet of cherry blossoms, lavender with tones of plum and blackberry.
