Mission Codename Heel Of The Boot
Do you have visions of hearty Italian sausage? Do you fantasize about making orecchiette by hand like a true Italian grandma? Have you ever eaten focaccia in your dreams? 🤤
If none of those things has ever happened to you, move along. And maybe you should reexamine your life….
But if that sounds familiar - you are not hallucinating! Today’s offer is an EPIC 97 point beauty from Southern Italy that we are basically giving away for a song!
You will not find a better price on the internet for this wine so do not delay.
The Piccini family has been stewards of these vines since 1882 and have earned a stellar reputation. Wine Enthusiast said this Tenuta is “one of the most dynamic and innovative wineries in Italy today.”
Gotta say, we second that!
And they do wonders with Primitivo! The varietal is kinda like the alter-ego of Zinfandel – big, bold and unapologetic. It is the pride and joy of Puglia and legend also says it was the wine served at the Last Supper!
And the region is perfect for it. The red soil here is rich in iron, the altitude is high and the proximity to the Ionian Sea means hotter conditions. “Primitivo di Manduria is a wine with a higher concentration both in aromas and taste,” says Massimo Tripaldi, famous Mandura oenologist.
The wine is vibrant and lush. Aromas of cocoa and wild cherries fill your nose. On the palette, expect fig, layered Mediterranean spices and vanilla flavors wrapped around plush, grippy tannins. The finish here ages as well as the wine will- for decades!
Don’t waste time looking up how to make “killer” spaghetti- get to check out before you miss out!
