Mission Codename Running up that creek
Zinfandel freaks, fans, zealots, and connoisseurs!
We have not forsaken you! It’s been weeks since we brought something to the table and we’re making up for it today with an old favorite - MIRO!
Under $20, this over-delivers in a BIG way.
Miro Cellars is a low-key winery in Sonoma spearheaded by Miro Tcholakov. We’ve been working with him for over a decade. Miro came to Napa to work a harvest in 1990 which spurred a nine-year stint at Dry Creek Vineyard. Since 1999 he’s been the winemaker at Trentadue, and does his own thing on the side, a small passion project if you will, for when he’s not busy judging international wine competitions. We’ve been lucky enough to stay on his good side, and he hooks up with wildly delicious deals like this when he can spare a few cases, as his wines sell out fast, year-in-year-out.
Speaking of, the previous vintage was rated as “outstanding” by Wine Spectator showing “supple yet briary, with lively raspberry and cherry flavors that take on toasty sage and fresh pepper accents.” No reviews yet on this vintage, how else could offer it for HALF PRICE? 😉
The flavor goes DEEEEEP like Steph Curry here. Warm berry pie. The copious amounts of sweet fig jam and all manners of blackberry, boysenberry, and cherry. Baking spices and Mexican chocolate. So much complexity! It’s all wrapped up around a big, dense, delicious core, just waiting for you to enjoy with a grilled burger/steak/ribs or whatever you’re cooking up this summer.
OG Operatives know the Miro style well. Impossible to resist. So why try?
