Mission Codename Covertly yours
We’ve been waiting for this one - not only is it the first Zinfandel we’ve had in a while, but it’s also the first-ever wine collaboration. And it’s KICK ASS delicious stuff! We’re fanatical about our Zin and beyond thrilled to put this in front of you.
You won’t ever find this anywhere else. It’s just plain ol’ tasty juice, a face-first splash mountain dive into a pool of jubilant fruity American Zinfandelly goodness.
Oh, and the price? At HALF OFF Naturally.
Last Fall we visited our good friend David Scheidt up at J Rickards Winery in Alexander Valley, where he makes his wines. We tasted through a lot of barrel samples, but this was the CHOSEN ONE. He had only 4 barrels to spare, although we begged for more. Well, he said, “it’s what the insanely low yields from some of the oldest vines around can give!” We succumbed. Thus, here we are with our first-ever co-branded single-vineyard “Covert Cuvee!”
Made exclusively for lucky Wine Spies Operatives like YOU.
This comes from J. Rickards’ old vine Ranch, planted in the early 1900s. It’s dark, expansive, and frontloaded with deep, vibrant fruit flavor. Purply black in the glass, it dishes out baskets full of raspberries, spiced black plums, jammy blackberries, and briary wild boysenberry. A dusting of cracked black pepper and sweet exotic spices, too. Not at all hot, it clocks in at a modest 14% and just flat out delivers pleasure with every sip. It’s the only BBQ sauce you’ll need on a low and slow dry-rubbed feast.
Winemaker David Scheidt is a true tour de force - a fantastic chef (he’s got a heap of KILLER-looking recipes for pairing ideas on his blog), talented winemaker, and meme maker extraordinaire (check his Instagram). But mostly we just love his wines and if you bought any of them in the past, you probably do too. If you haven’t discovered them yet, this is the perfect one to…
Will go fast! Make it YOURS… while you can.
