Soos Creek consistently produces some of the best tasting, best value red wines in WA State. In 1987, Boeing executive David Larsen joined the Boeing Wine and Beermakers Club. By 1989 he had started a winery in his garage, named for a creek near his home. Today he makes his Soos Creek wines in a building near his home in Kent. Since his first attempts at winemaking in the late 1980s, Dave has purchased the best grapes in Washington, establishing relationships that continue to assure him access to some of the best vineyards in the state. His wines have always been some of the best priced, in some cases even the lowest-priced, of the dozen or so made entirely from Champoux and Ciel du Cheval Vineyards fruit.
Soleil hails from the Champoux, Ciel du Cheval, Elephant Mt., and Klipsun vineyards. It has a dark ruby-red color, good concentration, and delicious flavors. The supple texture makes it an easy-drinking wine that is ready to enjoy sooner than our other blends. As with all our recently bottled wines, it will fill out and put on weight over the next several months.
