Mission Codename Freelove
SO FRESH!! Like fresher than a toddler dropping a hundred f-bombs in front of the grandparents.
Look, we don’t care where you fall on the wine spectrum - total noob or seasoned veteran - if you like puppies, warm sun on your face, and fresh picked berries you will love it. Especially at over 40% off - just $17 a pop?!
We fell so completely, hopelessly in love with this friendly little fruit bomb at a recent tasting. It’s unlike most anything you’ve ever tried, that’s for sure. And we implore you to at least try a bottle or three - if not a case. This is your drink with abandon, all day every day, reliable house red that greets you with all the energy of a Golden Retriever puppy whenever you need a pick me up.
While the label says Red Blend, mind you that this vintage is 100% pure Zinfandel from Chateau Diana’s Dry Creek Valley Estate Vineyard. This is our very first 2020 to offer, by the way, is it not by far THE BEST way to forget how we all left a rough year behind, and remember that great things can always bloom through difficult times?
Made in the same style as Beaujolais Nouveau, this “first wine” of the vintage is fermented for just a few weeks before bottling. Straight from the 2020 harvest, to fermentation, and into your mouth. Designed for immediate enjoyment with no aging, it simply bursts with eager, energetic fruit with loads of framboise, maraschino cherry, and a healthy dose of sweet baking spice. Not an intellectual or complex wine, but what it lacks there it makes up for in pure unadulterated deliciousness.
Our enthusiasm is shared by Wine Enthusiast too: “Nouveau-style production is in the midst of a monumental comeback. These are wines that are vinified quickly and released soon after bottling, inspired by France’s Beaujolais Nouveau. Now, a handful of West Coast producers have begun to utilize a part of the nouveau technique called carbonic maceration to produce light, easy-drinking reds for immediate consumption and maximum enjoyment.”
Carbonic, shmarbonic, goes down way too easy!
This stuff is like ‘Freelove’ in a bottle. When it hits your tongue, you’ll get it… TRUST US.
Can’t promise restraint though, stuffing our trunks with this ‘dreamy house red’ as we type…
