Mission Codename Spartan
The Vernay St. Joseph is no more… but we just unveiled a teeny bit more of the Top Cab Value of Yesteryear.
Madness! you say?
THIS. IS. PASOOOOO!! - we say, again.
Buckle up and enjoy the ride.
The Persian army beat King Leonidas and his 300 soldiers. Yea they lost the fight, but they won the war… and as the most famous underdogs EVER the Spartans won a special recognition in history as the ultimate badass warriors.
That brings us to this wine.
Here we have the underdog Cabernet of the year, Operatives. The affordable hero you need for Tuesday nights. Sure, Napa dominates in sheer numbers, and captures all the high-end glory but this… THIS is a testament to the power and style, not to mention the insane value of Paso Robles. It stands up to, and puts a hurt on, many a Napa Cabernet 3 to 4 times the price.
**Man…we just cannot even with this price. **
Just wait until you taste this straight up unpretentious Cabernet that goes down TOO easily. Lush and extracted with plenty of deep blackberry and raspberry jam, cherry pie and red currants galore. It also has a nice dose of vanilla, with a touch of savory herbs rounding things out. Really just a superb mouthfeel, lovely complexity, and all that sweet, ripe fruit you could ever hope for.
Finally, and this is important - the price. It once was $45 upon release. We pulled our despicable psy-ops to negotiate a silly discount and got it down to $14. That’s good and bad. Good if you can get some, bad because everybody needs cases of it, not bottles.
So… COME AND TAKE THEM!!
