Mission Codename Coro Power
We’re rocking so many ridiculous deals with such regularity you might think it’s vinous fiber. And this…THIS will rock your face right off if you love big, pumped up Zinfandel blends like the Prisoner. Throw in 90 points and knock the price down over 50% - yea, that’s how it’s going down today…
“Parducci continues to make remarkably good wines at fair prices out of its sustainably farmed, carbon-neutral Mendocino outpost” - Virginia Boone, Wine Enthusiast
What you are looking at is a Coro© Certified red that immediately sets itself apart from the rest. It’s a unique vocalization of many in one, Coro meaning “chorus” in Latin emphasizing just that.
Wine Spectator was highly supportive of this pioneering movement; “There is something mysterious about Mendocino County. Maybe it’s the jagged edge its coastline cuts into the Pacific, or the way the fog hangs heavy amid the redwoods, or how the old and gnarled Zinfandel vines cling to hidden hillsides… one of California’s oldest winegrowing regions and has produced its share of excellent wines… (and) America’s first regional signature wine, in the vein of Chianti and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Launched with the 2001 vintage, the project involves about a dozen wineries blending Zinfandel-based wines under similar-looking labels. The wines so far have been eclectic and occasionally eccentric, but they have revealed a sense of place and authenticity.”
Mendocino is the wild west of California wine country, and Parducci is the oldest active winery in the region. For three generations the Thornhill family has been there, making great wines, and taking great care to ensure they do so in a sustainable way that cares for the land. If you like ripeness dialed up to 11 then this is your jam. Rich and round, mouthcoating layers of dark red cherry liqueur, raspberry jam, cocoa dust, and vanilla cola swell from the glass. A total face-ripper that’s a blast to drink without a care in the world while you’re grilling up a storm.
Hesitant to say much else…because we begged and pleaded for more than we got, but it’s never enough these days. So get in early because this one WILL fly!!
90 Points - Wine Enthusiast
“Full body, extremely ripe and rich fruit flavors and generous oak spices give this wine a bold, boisterous profile. It has serious concentration and firm tannins. Blended from Zinfandel and Rhône varieties, it will drink best after 2023.”
