Mission Codename Brunel100
Look What Santa Brought!
WIA 2020 NEEDED a perfect 100-pointer, and there it is, in all its splendor…
How many perfect 2015 Brunellos do you have stashed away?
There’s only one real answer - not enough.
By now you know 2015 is the greatest vintage, perhaps EVER, in Tuscany, and here’s your chance to own a glorious example from one of the area’s legendary producers A booming statement, bringing 100 giant points to the table. And today we’re dropping a few bottles at a price hard to score again… Just don’t ask what it took, we almost lost a few Spies along the way.
Opulent and concentrated, this is all class, with hallmark Brunello traits pulsing through its core. “Fuligni is on a shortlist of the best wine estates in Montalcino.” as Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate notes. “A wine for decades” adds James Suckling in his 100-point review below.
Run, don’t walk to the checkout line.
James Suckling - 100 Points
“The purity of fruit on the nose is perfection with cherries, crushed raspberries, mineral, pumice, and citrus fruit. Dust, too. Full body. Powerful, chewy tannins. So long and muscular, yet polished and formed. Most structured Brunello I have ever had from here. A wine for decades. Try after 2022.”
