65% Of Cabernet Franc neighbors of Cheval Blanc. Situated in the heart of the mythical terroir of the first great classified growths, Château Jean Faure’s continuous 18-hectare vineyard is encroached in a magnificent clay terroir, from which cabernet franc draws incredible energy. The practice of a certified organic viticulture - and a conversion toward a biodynamic process - stems from the will to respect the soils, the vines, and the people who with them.
Jean Faure’s 2019 is a well-balanced and harmonious wine, underpinned by crisp Merlot, highlighting the Cabernet Francs. Every effort is made in the vineyard during the vegetative cycle, and then at harvest time, to reveal the terroir’s typical style. Thorough sorting, winemaking and maturing procedures entirely respecting organically farmed grapes, produce intensively fragrant wines with a straight structure and elegant tannins. The harvest is handpicked in small crates. The use of a double sorting table allows for a more precise selection of the fruit. Overall, the 2019 vintage for Saint-Émilion was excellent and although many of the wines will be drinking well now, the rewards from some time in the cellar could prove sublime.
