Mission Codename Hunting high and low
“A diverse mix of high-quality estate vineyards. An experienced production team. A driven owner… and the Pinot Noir lineup at Three Sticks seems primed to be among the leaders in the category.” – Wine Spectator
It’s happening!
Finally, after MONTHS of trying to land this jaw-dropping Pinot deal, the day has arrived.
Some things in nature will remain a mystery - the murmuration of starlings, what whales are saying to each other, and THIS - an $18 Sonoma Pinot that invokes pure happiness upon the first sip.
Whether you know it or not, this is likely to be your new favorite, bargain-basement, over-delivering, go-to house Pinot. Just move quickly because one thing is certain - it will not last.
Why? Fair warning, LOTS of name-throwing ahead: First there’s the proprietor, Bill Price III, of Kistler, Gary Farrell, along with Kosta Browne from 2009 through 2015, when he took on Three Sticks with consulting winemaker extraordinaire Bob Cabral, a name we all know very well from his 17-year stint at Williams Selyem who’s currently at Bricoleur Vineyards. Then there’s Britt Richards, the young and talented day-to-day Head High winemaker, who has her own star-studded resume with Jordan, Chappellet, Peter Michael, and Atelier Melka on there. Phew. Back to the wine!
This delectable Pinot is from the team’s second label and sourced from 3 of their top vineyards in Sonoma including Gap’s Crown! The coolest part though? Head High is the first and only wine project that is certified Ocean Positive - an initiative for “taking action NOW to sequester more carbon emissions than they’re creating - having a positive impact on the ocean and the life it supports.”
It delivers a juicy fruit-laden airdrop of pleasure, in a ready-to-sip-and-savor style. Ripe, energetic, and friendly, with cherry fruit rollups, baking spices, vanilla, strawberry liqueur, and cola all punching their way to the top. Not heavy or sappy, nor dirty or funky at all. You don’t need a PhD to appreciate it. It’s reliable and crushable, and OUR PRICE makes it an unbeatable deal.
Get more than you think. We’re warning you – we grabbed as much as we could muster up, but when the emails come in asking for more there’s no guarantee…
