Mission Codename Loony bin, how may I help you?
80% OFF?! Our accountant is putting a call in to send us to the loony bin at this very moment.
Public math is not our strong suit, but we’re pretty sure this adds up to $140 OFF PER BOTTLE.
If you scored the 2018 vintage we offered last year, you already know what’s up. Now we’re back with the equally astounding, just as delectable 2021 vintage.
Now let’s be honest - we hadn’t heard of Brian Kosi prior to being blown away by this Cab either.
Then we did the research and came across this on the venerable Wine Business publication: “A graduate of the University of California-Davis, Kosi’s career includes positions at Acacia Vineyard, Opus One, PlumpJack Winery, Beaulieu Vineyard and Freemark Abbey.”
Add Cardinale, and Juslyn Vineyards currently. With that resume came the a-ha moment. We didn’t hit the Powerball jackpot, but we did land this, so we’re feeling pretty, pretty, pretty good.
After tasting it, we’re feeling even better. Inky, borderline neon ruby on the rim. Crème de cassis, blueberry, black cherry, violet, and spice dominate the powerful, concentrated, deftly balanced profile. With terrific purity of fruit, ripe, sweet tannins, and vibrant acidity, it’s a classic, textbook top-shelf 2021 Napa Cab to savor over the coming decade, at least. Slap a prime rib down next to it and you’ll be feeling like a king.
There is not much else to say, really, as the sources are kept secret here, but big, bold, bright mountain fruit is evidently there, along with lavish sweet vanillin from expensive new oak in line with the Reserve designation elevates this Cab to great heights.
No doubt, this will sell out fast.
