Mission Codename "I think my vice would be outdoing myself."
We’re NOT that naive, SELLOUT of that Mignanelli was inevitable, and prepared we were.
Next up, take our advice and Double Agent with us, with a second pour of Pinot by THE VICE!
At 50% OFF this TRUCHARD Pinot slips comfortably under $30, grab some and queue up the Homer Simpson “I am so smart dance.”
The Vice comes to us from the husband-and-wife team Malek Amrani and Tori Greenberg. Malek is the winemaker, and after some successful entrepreneurial adventures, and pro athletics he turned to wine. Or maybe immersed is a better word. He got himself a Level 3 Sommelier certification in between doing triathlons. Now he handles everything from soup to nuts at The Vice. His wife Tori meanwhile brings the branding side into focus, and she did a great job with the alluring silkscreen and overall look.
John Truchard is a man among men in Napa and owns some prime vineyards including their very own Truchard Vineyard in the Napa Valley side of Carneros. This is the most Northeastern site in Carneros, sitting at the base of Mount Veeder, growing highly sought-after grapes since the 70s. Over the years their name appeared on many labels including Saddleback, Frog’s Leap, Carter, and Nickel & Nickel.
And oh boy does this hit all our Pinot-loving sweet spots. Round and ripe, cascading with red cherry and sweet rhubarb, pomegranate reduction, some lovely nutmeg/cinnamon baking spices, tilled earth, and just the right dose of vanilla from French oak. Impressive stuff, really, and worthy of the $50+ price tag it normally carries. Imagine the synergy with an equally juicy and tender pork tenderloin roast!
Whether you’re stashing some for the remainder of winter, the spring, or summer, we say do it quickly.
Word is out on The Vice - you need this Pinot in your life!
