Mission Codename Verdot.com
We may have a break in the atmospheric river, but we’re about to open the floodgates to let loose another torrent of Hawk & Horse!
The perennial favorite returns! This time with a 93 POINT Petit Verdot that Wine Enthusiast praised as “big, concentrated…rich, mouth-coating and delicious.”
If that description fires you up, please get in touch with the checkout button ASAP - Hawk and Horse never lasts long around here! I mean, did you see our price?! Under $30!
Seasoned Operatives out there can skip the next part, but for the newbies around here, let’s start with the winemaker - Dr. Richard Peterson.
Heard of him? Probably not.
But you’ve heard of Screaming Eagle and Heidi Barrett Peterson. Get this - before Heidi came on board it was her dad, Dr. Peterson who led the first four vintages of Screaming Eagle into cult stardom. Then his daughter - Heidi Barrett took over. That’s not all. He also took André Tchelistcheff’s post at Beaulieu Vineyards, helped develop Atlas Peak Vineyards, and he presides over numerous institutions including the American Society for Enology & Viticulture, the Wine Institute, the Society of Wine Educators and the American Institute for Wine and Food. Oh, and he wrote an award-winning autobiography “The Winemaker.” Wow!
Back to the wine - what else can we say that Jim Gordon didn’t cover? Chocolate-covered blueberries, blackberry jam, and some ground-up Nilla wafers pretty much describe it. Still quite young, but oh so delicious, and ready to rock your world for the next 5-7 years or more. The question is, will you be able to save any that long??
Also let’s ask, with 44% OFF, how many hours have we got till sellout? It’s inevitable.
93 points - Wine Enthusiast
“A striking aroma of blackberry jam leads to big, concentrated, and deep black cherries, blueberries, and dark chocolate in this full-bodied and handsomely tannic wine. It is rich, mouth-coating, and delicious. Best through 2030.”
