Mission Codename Howell ya feelin'?
Succulent, concentrated, and savory…
All keywords we love to see in wine descriptions. Also, seeing “Howell Mountain” on a bottle makes our hearts go pitter-patter.
Drop the price by nearly 50% we just about go into an uncontrolled frenzy. 93 points, too!? At its release price of $75, the value is already baked in. Yesterday you could find it for as low as $59 at some places. Today we drop it for $39.
This is obviously MENTAL, considering many Howell Mountain wines go for $75-150 or much more.
In fact, a recent article on Robb Report – the lifestyle magazine of the rich and the famous – named Bravante as one of “The 9 Best Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons From the Storied Howell Mountain Appellation” and among the “small volume cult wines that take a little work to acquire.”
Well, we did that work for ya, Operatives.
Bravante has one of the coolest named winemakers around - Duane Dappen, and as an alum of Frank Family, Rombauer, and Grgich Hills, he has the chops to work this mountain fruit into a boisterous, unrestrained tour de force. This blend of Cabernet, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc is nothing short of explosive. Still rugged, but gaining polish with six years in the bottle, it’s JUICY and pumped full of deep, dark black fruit and savory elements. Blackberry jam for days, black plums, and cassis along with sweet soil, smoked meats, and savory herbs all wrapped up in a band of vanilla and oak. Mouthcoating, teeth staining, and full-bodied but still seamless and balanced front to back. Generous. Silky. Potent. Heady.
ALL THAT and more at our price!
Anyone who loves full-throttle reds should be all over this one. Heavily discounted Howell Mountain wines tend to have a short half-life around here though. Don’t be late!
93 Points – James Suckling
“Ripe blackberries, poached plums, dried thyme, cloves, and grilled herbs on the nose. Full-bodied with firm, fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. Succulent, concentrated, and savory. Drink or hold.”
