The white from Château Magrez Fombrauge is a rare and special wine coming from vines located in the town of Saint Christophe des Bardes, in the heart of one of the best Saint-Emilion terroirs. The limestone based soils reveal the aromatic richness and the subtle minerality of this Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris blend.
In the winery the grapes are loaded manually into the press and crushed under extremely gradual pressure under an inert atmosphere to preserve the aromas. The juice is then gravity-fed from the press into barrels under which the juice will undergo racking and fermentation in French oak. The wine is then matured on the lees with stirring until a complete round texture forms.
Fruity, elegant and classy, the nose displays a nice touch of freshness and minerality with elegant floral hints. Aromas of peach, yellow fruit, apple and a hint of citrus fruit mingling with subtle floral touches. Notes of ripe lemon, lychee and fleshy, juicy peaches with some pear notes mingling with citrus fruit and a hint of kumquat, as well as very discreet floral touches.
