Mission Codename Harmon-y
“If you haven’t heard of Justin Harmon, you should write that name down.” – Jeb Dunnuck
No diggity doubt, JD! But I know what you’re thinking…
It’s rare to see one of Justin’s wines under $75. Mostly he makes killer stuff under his Argot label, which has quickly risen to sold-out, near-cult status with huge 95-98+ scores every vintage.
So, under $30 for one of his Pinots seems… too good to be true.
But some of you will remember the Wightman Pinot we offered last year, which sold out in hours. Those who scored some already dipped their toes in today’s offer no doubt. Because it too WILL NOT LAST.
Justin Harmon steers this project with a talented conviction. He’s a younger, under-the-radar talent who’s beginning to make big waves. Wine Enthusiast recognizes his talent, reporting “for his Pinot Noirs, Harmon aims for texture and intensity for his fruit-driven style.”
That makes sense when you learn Justin worked alongside the wizard himself, Russel Bevan, who seems to deliver 100-pointers every vintage with his eyes closed. Justin’s Argot wines consistently hit mid to high 95+ points across the board, and while this isn’t rated, we’d feel 100% confident slapping a 93+ on it, if that matters to you. If you love a big, unabashedly ripe, and pure Pinot, this sits firmly in your wheelhouse.
Powerful and robust without being overbearing or too extracted. It wafts from the glass with cherry pie, juicy pomegranate, sweet strawberry rhubarb pie, cinnamon, clove, and a gentle kiss of toastiness from French oak. Fabulous, really. Silky and plush, medium to full-bodied, but quite fresh, and not at all overly extracted it’s just what Goldilocks would want. Especially with a porcini risotto with TONS of Parmigiano.
Just know we have even less than last time - and the demand is only growing.
At over 40% OFF?! It just won’t last the day.
