Mission Codename Régnié, We need!
Located in the heart of Beaujolais, the Passot family has been cultivating Cru wines for 6 generations. The family has been cultivating with the philosophy of care for their land. Everything is hand harvested, hand sorted, and carefully selected to bring you an expression of terroir each vintage.
This particular Beaujolais hails from the Cru vineyard of Régnié this wine has it all. Fragrant and round wine that releases a pleasant long finish on the palate. A cherry and ruby color. It has raspberry, red currant, prune, blackberry and black currant aromas with a spicy, mineral note. Subtle balance fresh red fruits structured by delicate tannins. Not only is this one of the tastiest Cru Beaujolais’ we have had at Wine Spies but this is almost like the Swiss Army knife of wines to pair with your meals. This beauty is light in texture, has elevated acidity, and multiple of generations of winemakers to get this wine damn near perfect.
Did we mention the elevated acidity? Did we mention we are acid heads here at Wine Spies? Because of that, feel free to experiment with a plethora of food pairings. Salads, light fish, dark fish, meats, and endless other possibilities. “Either way, the truth is in the bottle and wine is all about enjoying yourself!” - Domaine Passot
