Mission Codename Pamp It
WIA White Wine of the Year!
Succulent, intoxicating fruit driven whites, are hard to come by at a bargain, are they not?!
How about a WIA for that super-rare combo of 100-pointer winemaking and being from Napa Valley at under $20 thanks to a 50% OFF!
Jean Hoefliger turned loose a powerful, balanced, and downright tasty Sauv Blanc for your drinking pleasure. And we turned loose a massive break dropping it from $38 to a much friendlier $19. YES!
Maxville is a name you’ll keep hearing more and more in the wine press soon as recent investments in vineyards and quality are through the roof. Perhaps you scored some of their ‘Oranos’ we sold earlier this year and already know what we’re talking about.
This is pumped up Sauv Blanc, done in the Jean Hoefliger style. Fermented in three ways - concrete egg, stainless and in barrel - it shows a wild complexity. Fully charged with ripe grapefruit and pears, maybe some lemon curd too. A backbone of gentle oak adds some toastiness, with a hint of butter and a nibble of caramel. Ample acidity keeps it from bloating, adding a perky and bright zip to it. The components all fit together perfectly to create a Sauv Blanc you must taste to fully comprehend.
For $19 you’ll be hard pressed to find a better example out there. Don’t linger much longer – this is the very last of what we were able to get!
