2020 vintage will be remembered for factors beyond the normal measurements. In Napa, it was a dry and warm winter and we didn’t start to see rain and cold weather until the end of March. While the mild Spring gave us a great early start, we worked under extensive safety protocols due to the COVID Pandemic. August was marked with one of the longest heat waves on record which led us to harvest in mid-September; and fortunately spared us from the smoke of the nearby wildfires that ravaged the region starting September 29th.
Dark and dense in color with yet vivid ripe nose of Acaï, fig jam and blueberry reduction. Youthful and powerful entrance with massive tannins, this cab builds steadily through with layers of toasted coconut, vanilla bean and melted chocolate. The finish is so long and chewy, promising a long life ahead.
Rolling hills with northern, eastern and western sun exposure allows our grapes to ripen to their peak potential. The nearby San Pablo Bay keeps the vineyard at relatively cooler temperature than most of Napa Valley with temperature here rarely exceeding 90F.
