Mission Codename Daddy Cool
Happy Father’s Day!
On this sunny Sunday hope you and your loved ones are celebrating life while beating the heat next to, on, or ideally in a refreshing body of water.
Had a few scorching days here, and we’ve been crushing monumental amounts of this poolside. It’s like internal AC for our weary bodies at the end of the day - or lunch - or anytime to be honest. On days like this, anything goes. Oh, and the best part? THE PRICE. $30 from the winery, and from us, well you’ll see.
We call these “locker stockers” because if you have a few spots left it’s almost required to fill it up and ship it out. Summer’s coming and you’ll want this for all your warm evening sipping, little league watching, lobster pound lounging, river tubing activities, and more.
We didn’t know about this producer but were floored when we tasted it recently. It’s a tiny find out of Anderson Valley, way out there near Boonville. Not gonna find it at your local Safeway or Lucky that’s for sure. Winemaker Ashley Holland brings worldly experience to the table, working in Australia, New Zealand, Uruguay, and then back to California where she worked with Sonoma’s venerable Three Sticks, Pax, and now her own label Read Holland, recently launched with massive scores from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.
By the way, check out the Store here – we were able to finagle a few cases of said Read Holland (!), arguably the hottest new project, it sure was so at the recent Garagiste festival, where we discovered winemaker Ashley Holland and her superb wines, all leading to today’s offering…
This delivers tropics in a bottle. Sweet honeydew melon. Passionfruit. Lychee and pink grapefruit. Lemony/lime citrus. Packed with all kinds of invigorating, clean, fresh flavors. It’s everything you want in a Sauvignon Blanc for an irresistible price. Get your oysters, and your ceviche - or do like us and grab some Thai. Oh yes.
In search of understanding how come this turned SO yummy, we dug a little deeper into the vineyard it’s from, called Charles. Getting discovered on precious labels by Papapietro Perry and Hindsight, it’s truly a hidden gem.
Take your hand, guide that mouse over to the “add to cart” button, and secure at least a half to a full case, you will need it.
