Mission Codename Bottoms up!
Gene editing.
Penicillin.
The Telephone.
And this Pinot.
All among mankind’s greatest discoveries. We’re channeling our inner Edison today. Seriously, this rivals some of the best out there - we know that because we tasted it alongside Patz & Hall, Anthill Farms, Entrepreneur, and a few other high-end, expensive brethren.
And it crushed everything. Then we crushed the price into a much smaller number, from $62 down to $28.
This micro-production, Tiny House Vineyard comes from a local friend Kieran Murphy who founded this boutique winery in 2014. He and his wife BreAnna built and lived in a tiny house in Sonoma, hence the name.
While tiny living is small and minimal, this wine is anything but. Powerful and lush, it’s a medium to fuller bodied style, very much what we expect from Russian River Valley. Absolutely jammed with deep red fruit - a core of red raspberry and strawberry whips, sweet rhubarb, clove, and pie crust. It comes from W.E. Bottoms Vineyard located at 700 feet elevation. Other notable producers who source fruit from here include Ram’s Gate, Banshee, and Zepaltas. The elevation brings the cooler temperatures and gives it some nice lift in the acidity department.
While this one is unrated, the previous vintage, arguably a tougher year, was “Highly Recommended” by Wine Enthusiast, rated “excellent” - described as “velvety, sumptuous and high toned” while Jeb Dunnuck described the vintage before that putting forth “a savory, elegant, seamless style, it’s beautifully balanced, light on its feet, and graceful.” Both can be found here in spades!
Trust your Agents. If you dig big, flashy, stylish Pinot you will LOVE this.
A tiny amount (pun intended) to go around…
