Fun fact. “Mad as a hatter” - the phrase made popular from Alice in Wonderland actually comes from the 18th century, when hat makers used excessive amounts of mercury in their work. They went a bit loony from the heavy metal exposure, thus the term.

We have not ingested any mercury (knowingly). We’re fit as a fiddle, sharp as a tack, and according to our significant others, very attractive. Still, it can’t be normal to find a wine from Tuck Beckstoffer at this sort of price, can it?

Galloni recently wrote “2019 Cabernets are big, bold wines that show the extroverted side of Napa Valley” and earlier top vintages consistently scored big with praise such as “delicious, shares a similarly dark profile with the flagship Dancing Hares, but shows a bit more energy, tension and persistence” from Galloni or *“a total hedonistic and intellectual turn-on” from Parker.
